If you have been to this site before, you may notice that some past stories and columns are missing. This is because the Daily Mountain Eagle in Jasper, Ala., has ended previous Web links to stories in an effort to require customers to pay for past stories. This took place before I knew about it and after I had posted many to this site. It is disheartening because much of my work over a five-year period is wiped from easy access from the Internet. I will be trying to recuperate what I can for the future.
In the meantime, some of the stories below are available because I took clips to a UPS store and had them scanned into PDF files; others I did myself. (You’ll note the UPS clerks did not make sure they were right side up or put on one file.) I think many of you will find this more convenient than keeping up with clips sent in the mail, as clips can be stored, read and printed from here. You may wish to adjust the percentage of the size to make any jagged lettering become clear.
If you still have need for me to send a photocopy or PDF copy of a story, let me know. EH |
